In attendance were the state's best swimming athletes who have competed at the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships, National Age Multi-Disability Championships and those who are heading over to Sydney next week to compete at the 2010 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships.
The evening highlighted WA's national competitors with a congratulatory speech made by Swimming WA's President Jeanette Bailey, followed by formal presentations made by Dot Harris.
"Their continuous hard work and dedication over the years has got them to this exciting level of competition and it is very important that we recognise each swimmer individually for what they have achieved" said Bailey.
West Australian Institute of Sport athlete and recently crowned ANZ Junior Sports Star of the Year, Gymnast Lauren Mitchell attend the evening as a guest speaker. Mitchell gave our WA swimming athletes a slightly different insight into what it is like to be a fellow West Australian elite sportsperson.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of national competitors to recognise and reward some very worthy swimmers and coaches.
