Swimming WA is pleased to announce that the position of Executive Director has been filled. Simon Taylor is due to take up the position in early April. Until that time Laura Reid will be acting Executive Director.

Simon has recently fulfilled the role of General Manager - Community Rugby for the Queensland Rugby Union. In this role, Simon oversaw the development and implementation of programs and initiatives for more than 54,000 participants throughout Queensland. Many of the initiatives developed under Simon’s leadership and guidance have been rolled out across Australia. Simon has also held management positions with Australian University Sport, West Rugby Union Club, Central Queensland University and Rockhampton Rugby.

Simon comes to Swimming WA with extensive experience working with Government, Sponsors and Member organisations to achieve growth and the delivery of exceptional service in sport. Simon has worked with hundreds of clubs over a 15 year sports management career on issues including member retention, financial management and governance.

As a former state level swimmer and club delegate to the State body, Simon has been involved in the sport of swimming for more than 10 years. Simon is excited to be joining Swimming WA and looks forward to meeting many stakeholders from the sport throughout Western Australia.
