2010 SunSmart State Age Championships
Over 420 athletes went head to head in competition as they competed in the 2010 SunSmart State Age Championships. The event was held over five days at Challenge Stadium from the 18th to 22nd December 2009 and included over 1600 entries. The State Age Championships was a great opportunity for all swimmers involved to gain some experience before they embark in future national or international events.

Spectators witnessed some very exciting and impressive swims from some of WA’s rising state age swimming superstars with an overall 106 records broken and over 55% of swimmers improving on their entry times. Our international guests from Singapore, Finland and the United Kingdom also added some fierce but friendly rivalry in the pool.

On the final night of the 13yrs/U Women’s 100m Freestyle Brianna Throssell from City of Perth swum a time of 56.97, at the time of doing this swim, not only did Brianna break 12 records in the process from 13yrs right through to Open, Brianna also achieved the mantle of being the female who has recorded the fastest ever 100m Freestyle time by a WA swimmer in WA. Four events later, fellow club member  Blair Evans (CPER) then swum a 56.21 in the 17-18yrs age and has now taken the mantle off of Brianna of recording the fastest time of 100m Freestyle in WA by a WA swimmer.
